The C-1 transit visa is for foreign nationals traveling in immediate and continuous transit through the United States en route to another country. It is a short-purpose visa and does not permit activities beyond transit.
Who it's for
- Travelers passing through the U.S. to a third country
- Crew members transiting to join a vessel or aircraft (often C-1/D)

Apply at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate with Form DS-160.
Crew members
Transit is often combined with the D crewmember visa as C-1/D.
